Acer Iconia Tab A500

Overview:

The Acer Iconia A500 is an Android tablet and was launched April 2011. Acer´s tablet is running on Google´s Android ‘Version 3.2′ – also known as “Honeycomb”.

Acer´s Iconia is not the first tablet PC on the market, however it was one of the first Android tablet on the market.

The Iconia A500 has a 10.1” capacitive touchscreen with a 1280 x 800 screen resolution. In comparison to Apple´s iPad, the Iconia A500 has an HDMI and a full-sized USB port. For example Samsung´s Galaxy Tab 10.1v has a mini USB port that means that the user needs an adapter. A 1Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual processor with 1 GB RAM powers the Iconia.

Furthermore the Iconia A500 has a micro SD card slot, so the tablet user can extent the internal storage if it´s necessary.

The advantage to the iPad for the device is not only the Flash video support but also the price for the Iconia A500. The Acer Iconia A500 starts at $579 for the entry-level 16GB Wi-Fi model, and $678 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model now there’s the Acer Iconia Tab A500 (16GB) for $386.
